This past week I had my very first segment on KUTV 2 News to share my chocolate ganache over a pumpkin pie recipe. At 7:00 am and five minutes before we went live, I realized that I had forgotten one of the two ingredients (basically I’m the worst sister ever) and the most important one, whipping cream. My pregnant sister shouldn’t have ran as fast as she did to a nearby coffee shop and literally screamed, “I need whipping cream!” Thank you to Garden Coffee on Main Street and 300 South for saving the day with literally 30 seconds before it was time to go. After all of that craziness, I think it turned out alright. Thank you to all of our friends and readers who messaged me afterwards! I can’t believe how amazing you guys are.
Well, do you want to know what I did with the rest of the pie? I’ll be honest, I ate a good chunk of it, and then I made a milkshake out of it. Oh my goodness, it was divine! This would be a great recipe for any kind of leftover pie you have taking up space in your refrigerator.
1 piece of left-over pumpkin pie and ganache
4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
whipped cream for garnishing
Combine all ingredients into a blender (This is the blender I use, however I’ve been dreaming of one of these…) and blend until smooth. Top your milkshake with extra bits of pie crust, leftover ganache, and whipped cream. Dig in with a spoon and enjoy!
