Hello there! We’re back with another installment in our video series! We met up with Kendra, one of the adorable Six Sisters. She runs their style site, Six Sisters Style. Her main concern with her makeup was how to apply her blush, and how to minimize her cheeks. I personally think her cheeks are adorable, and don’t need minimizing; but, as a girl with a round face, I can empathize.
Here’s the before and after
A few tips:
Unless you’re under the age of 18, or you are vacationing in Saint Tropez– let’s lay off the super shimmery bronzers. Try to find a good matte bronzer for everyday that matches your undertones. And by that I mean, the color that you would naturally tan, or the color that matches what your arms and chest look like tanned.
When you apply blush, smile in the mirror, that will show you the “apple”, or the roundest part of the cheek where we naturally flush. You want to start the application of the blush there. But, you also want to make sure to blend the blush up and back, otherwise you can risk looking like a painted porcelain doll with just a circle of blush on the cheeks.
You can also contour your face for more definition if you have time or want that look. For more information about contouring, see our HAC video here.
When you are trying to minimize your cheeks, make sure you don’t use a blush with shimmer. The shimmer will draw attention to the fullest part of the cheek. Instead, opt for a highlighter that will brighten, not shine.
Here are the products I used, I’ve included some more budget friendly options as well :
