Growing up my mom made it a tradition to make a Valentine’s Day Candy Bouquet every year. I always looked forward to it, because not only did it taste good, but it looked so pretty! Now that I’m married, I’ve tried to start some traditions of my own so I thought maybe I’d carry on that same tradition for me and my husband. Although, if you have kids, this would be a great activity for them also!
Peeps hearts although, I found them a lot cheaper at my local Smiths Marketplace.
and Conversation Hearts to fill up my vase.
***Keep in mind that you can use any type of gummy candies, so pick out some of your favorites and get ready to be creative!
I began by placing one of the gummier candies about three quarters of the way down the bamboo skewer as a base to hold all the other candies. When I placed a fudge striped cookie in the mix, I made sure to surround it by other gummy candies that would be sure to hold it in place. I continued filling the skewer until I reached the top. I left the bottom 1/4 bare so that I could stick it in a vase.
I like to make each skewer different, and create unique patterns on each, but for a more uniform look you can set your own pattern and follow that on each of the skewers.
Once I finished each skewer, I placed them into a vase filled with conversation hearts. The result is super cute!
