I’m a big fan of homemade remedies when it comes to hair masks, because I think that it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money for your locks to look good! So today I’m going to be sharing with you two of the best hair masks for the winter months.
Coconut Oil Hair Mask
1/2 Cup Coconut Oil
I like to use this hair mask weekly, because it helps to revive my curls. Apply this hair mask liberally to dry hair (approximately half of a cup). Start at the ends and move up towards the roots. Give yourself a scalp massage, and leave it in for 30 minutes to an hour. Wash out with shampoo and conditioner.
This second hair mask is actually a recipe that I adapted from a hair mask that I found in The Curly Girl Handbook on page 84, but they call it the Wrapunzel hair mask. I like to call this one Avocado Dream, because it leaves your hair super shiny and hydrated!
1 ripe avocado
3-4 teaspoons honey
8-10 drops olive oil
And I like to add half of a banana to the mix
First, mash up the avocado, and banana, then mix in honey and olive oil. Apply at the ends, and work up to the roots. Leave in for 30 minutes to and hour, and wash out with shampoo and conditioner.
Feel free to pamper yourself with these diy hair masks weekly! Your locks will thank you for it!
