Hello there! I just wanted to share with you a little secret brush washing hack I have been doing lately–it has saved my hands and nails this winter! You may have seen there are a lot of expensive brush cleaning devices like this one that have come out on the market recently. I’m sure they help with cleaning, but I would have a hard time spending $40 on it, especially when I could put that toward a new brush or palette I’ve been eyeing! There’s a cheaper, $12 cleaning tool here, but it doesn’t protect those manis or nail beds!
Although I’m sure these tools are great at helping you speed up the process, I have found a $3 solution under my kitchen sink! Seriously though. I had a pair of nice, thicker textured rubber gloves under my sink, new and unused that I designated as my “brush cleaning gloves.” The solution is so simple, it’s silly, but let me tell you it has made washing my brushes a breeze knowing that I won’t end up with wilted raisin hands when I’m done. Plus, the texture on the gloves helps to ease dirt and makeup out of the bristles while still being gentle and not tearing up my brushes. I just use the plain old yellow ones, but I sure think these are cute!
So, there you go! Try it out, you won’t regret it, and save yourself $40.
