I figure that probably not all of our readers here at Fry Sauce & Grits own a home, so I thought I’d feature my tiny 350 square foot apartment in some posts to reach out to those of you who are in the same type of living situation.
A few months back, my husband and I were lucky enough to inherit this beautiful custom made piano from my father-in-law (talk about an exciting Christmas gift!). Since we are both music majors, it has been very important to us, so we decided we find a wall for it in our 350 square foot apartment. I don’t regret it one bit! It has been such a blessing for me to sit at the piano after work and play to the beautiful mountains outside my window. I mean, really, look at these suckers:
Can you tell that I have one of those really old fun house windows from the olden times? If you can’t see it in the picture above, look a little closer.
As you can see above, our piano decor didn’t look bad, but it wasn’t very exciting, so I decided to gather some things from around the house (since I don’t have a ton of money to spend on decor) to create a more interesting spread. Here’s what I came up with:
Here are most of the items I used:
2. Piano Lamp (thrifted) but this one is similar
4. Globe (inherited) this one is similiar
5. Music crate
6. Giraffes or are they deer? (thrifted)
7. Handmade pottery (thrifted)
8. A mix of vintage and new flower pots
P.S. Did you know that Home Depot has the best succulents around? Seriously. I’ve been eyeing this one for a while. Also I’m thinking I want to venture into the world of air plants. Does anyone have any experience with them? I think they are so neat!
